Professional Bio
Katie MacCammon, CPRP, is the Recreation Manager for the City of Fairfax Parks & Recreation, where she oversees youth programs and summer camps and supports adult and senior programs, special events, cultural arts, and marketing and communications initiatives. Passionate about creating meaningful community experiences, Katie enjoys finding innovative ways to connect residents with parks, programs, and one another.
Katie is a founding member and current Chair of the Virginia Recreation & Park Society (VRPS) Young Professional Network and serves as the Northern Service Area Representative on the VRPS Awards Committee. She is also a Past Chair of the NRPA Young Professional Network and remains actively involved in advancing the parks and recreation profession through leadership, mentorship, and volunteer service.
Her contributions have been recognized with the NRPA 30 Under 30 Award, NRPA Young Professional Fellowship, AAPRA Externship, VRPS Outstanding New Professional Award, and multiple VRPS President’s Awards. She is passionate about developing future leaders and strengthening the profession across Virginia and beyond.
