Join us for VRPS ParkJam Kickoff – Training & Demo Day, a day of practical learning, peer connections, and equipment demonstrations for the professionals who maintain our parks, landscapes, and athletic fields.
Following the success of our event in Roanoke last year, we are excited to bring ParkJam Kickoff to Richmond as part of the VRPS Annual Conference. This hands-on, operations-focused event is designed specifically for park maintenance, horticulture, and field operations staff who want to dive into practical skills, industry best practices, and the latest equipment innovations.
What to Expect

Morning Kickoff: Start with a light breakfast social, connect with peers and vendors, and view a live stream of the conference opening session and keynote address.

Targeted Education: Participate in roundtable discussions and information-sharing sessions covering turf management, invasive species management, vehicle and equipment safety protocols, tiedown and hauling, pre-trip protocols, and preventative maintenance.

Vendor Demonstrations & Exhibits: Explore hands-on equipment demonstrations, view vendor exhibits, and see the latest battery and electric small engine tools in action.

Skills Challenge: Put job-related tools and equipment to the test in a safe, timed competitive environment featuring events like a zero-turn mower course, backpack blower precision tasks, trailer maneuverability, and weed eater stringing.

Lunch & Recognitions: Enjoy lunch while we take time to celebrate and recognize standout staff achievements.

Hands-On Landscaping Session: Get your hands dirty during an afternoon work session focusing on light landscaping and arborist work on site.
